Pamper your pets with these cool projects designed just for them such as this clever leash holder that's built from just one board. Using one board, a couple of tools, and these simple tips, make this project super easy. Download the stencils, and follow the directions for laying out all the parts on the one board you need for this whole project, then cut down the board into pieces so the sizes are easier to work with. Start with the dog's head. A jigsaw is the perfect tool to use for cutting out intricate shapes like this and if you've never used one check out this jigsaw basics video to bring you up to speed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNoNe.... You'll need the jigsaw and a drill for the paw pads. To have enough board to work with these more easily, keep the pads and one of the two shelf halves on the same section. You'll need two drill bits. Using the smaller one, drill pilot holes all the way through each pad. This is how they'll screw to the wall. Then with the bigger bit, use a tape flag to drill to depth. This creates the area where you'll just pop in the dowel pegs later. Finally, use the jigsaw to actually cut out the pads. Now that your shapes are cut, give them a good sanding and then go to work on the shelf. Glue the two pieces together and clamp them to dry. If you need to, fill in any gaps with wood filler, then cut the curve with your jigsaw, and sand the shelf. With all the pieces prepped, you're ready to measure and mark for assembly. Mark, and then drill the pilot holes on the shelf itself. Mark the corresponding points on the dog head. Now, layout the hanging hardware on the brace, measure and mark where that attaches to the back of the dog head then go ahead and paint up the pieces. Attach the brace to the head, the head to the shelf and you're ready to hang your project according to the directions and you are done!
